Dates: 29 November to 3 December 2015
Location: National Dance Company Wales/Cwmni Dawns Cenedlaethol Cymru – Studio Space/Man Gwyn, Dance House, Wales Millennium Centre, Pierhead Street, Cardiff Bay, Cardiff CF10 4PH
This five-day lab is aimed at professional contemporary circus and circus theatre: directors, choreographers and auteurs who are interested in expanding their practice through peer-based facilitated sessions using Action Learning.
Led by Vicki Amedume (Artistic Director of Upswing) and Paul Evans (Freelance Director/Choreographer and Artistic Director of Crashmat Collective.)
During the lab, participants will be supported to individually lead sessions on specific approaches to making circus that they use or want to explore.
Artists will run a session, with assistance from the team, and then have an opportunity to discuss and dissect the process. This lab is created to enable both individual and group learning in a supported environment.
The subsidised fee for the five days is £100 per person. This includes food and refreshments (but not accommodation); however, we offer assistance in finding reasonably priced accommodation.
To apply contact us and we’ll send you a short application form to complete. We are requesting details about the work that individual artists or companies are presently making, what artists hope to gain from the process and what people could offer to the workshop.
