The CircusNext

EU Project

The CircusNext project is about sourcing and then supporting emerging artists likely to become a driving force in contemporary circus in Europe. This is achieved through collaborations with key EU based partners to enable the artists to be hosted in creation centres, to find professional assistance (directors, choreographers, composers) to meet producers, talk with technicians, plus dialogue with venues and festivals who will ultimately programme their work.

One main aim is to take into account the different contexts that the artists live and work in, as the standard of circus varies hugely across the EU.

The 2018 CircusNext Platform “Open Call” is presently live. Application details for UK & ROI residents can be found on our “News” page. Pre-selected artists receive support to present work-in-progress performances in person to the CircusNext Jury. Laureates receive additional support to further develop their shows.
